FoCoSS Forensics will be holding a Crime Scene Processing Techniques class the week of May 18-22, 2009 at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH. The class will provide students a comprehensive overview of documentation, collection and preservation of various types of physical evidence. It will also cover proper handling of a variety of different types of physical evidence including, fingerprints, footwear and tire tracks, shooting scene evidence, toolmarks, bloodstain patterns, gunshot residue, trace evidence, and fracture edge evidence. The week will consist of technical lectures, practical exercises and a mock crime scene. The practical exercises will allow students to practice and reinforce techniques covered in lecture such as photography, casting, dusting and lifting. FoCoSS Forensics’ Crime Scene Processing Techniques class will be unlike any other crime scene class you have ever attended. The knowledge and experience of our criminalists will provide the students the insight they need to properly process scenes and secure the physical evidence needed to help the investigation and support the case in court.
