Duties include: Conducting firearm, gunshot residue, toolmark, serial number, physical match, glass and fingerprint examinations/analyses of physical evidence specimens in connection with criminal investigations.  Supervising Identification unit criminalists.  Coordinating examinations/analyses of physical evidence in major cases. Collecting and preserving physical evidence at crime scenes.  Operating and maintaining complex analytical instrumentation. Writing and reviewing formal  nalytical reports.  Testifying as an expert witness in criminal trials.  Member of the laboratory safety committee.
