Timothy J. Burt has over 10 years of forensic experience with the Dover Police Department in Dover, New Hampshire, an agency accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Tim is currently employed as the lead detective of the Dover Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit, which is accredited by the American Society of Crime Lab Directors /Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB). Detective Burt is a certified police officer and has provided expert testimony on various aspects of crime scene analysis. Tim is both a Certified Crime Scene Analyst (CCSA) and a Certified Crime Scene Reconstructionist (CCSR) by the International Association for Identification (IAI).
Tim's areas of expertise are: Crime Scene Investigation and Analysis; Latent Processing; Blood Detection and Enhancement; Shooting Scene Reconstruction; Death Investigations; Criminal Investigations; Crime Scene Mapping; as well as, Grant Writing; Protocol Development; and Accreditation Management.
He has processed approximately 400 crime scenes and over 2400 pieces of evidence in his career. He has also assisted with 10 homicide investigations
